Micro-Perforation: Why These Invisible Holes Are Revolutionising Interior Acoustics Design
With a diameter equal to the size of a needle tip, micro perforation is fast becoming a designers’ preferred choice when addressing interior acoustics.
Unlike the traditional approach to sound absorption that relies on drilling numerous large and unsightly holes on panels, this ingenious technology leverages almost invisible holes that are the size of needle tips, to turn sound energy into heat.
Micro perforation has opened up new possibilities and given designers the freedom to specify a variety of acoustic materials not previously available.
Sound absorbers that are in the form of mirrors, light ceilings, and smooth veneer panels; these are some of the exciting applications now possible.
Join us as we explain the innovative technology behind micro perforation and how it’s revolutionising interior acoustic design.

BIPV – Achieving ZEB Through Energy Generating Façade
The move towards Zero Energy Building (ZEB) is currently trending worldwide, helped by innovative developments in numerous energy savings and energy generating solutions.
AGC has been in the forefront for many years with AGC’s high-performance Low-E glass contributing to substantial energy savings.
However, the concept of ZEB realisation is not practical with just energy savings solutions alone but needs to be complemented with a power generating system and a good energy management solution.
Rooftop solar photovoltaic system often faces capacity limitation due to constrained space as major roof space are generally occupied by water tanks, HVAC and other systems. Vertical façade areas of buildings can now be considered for maximising power generation.
In addition, the concept of ZEB can now be realized with facades cladded with glass panels that are embedded with photovoltaic cells.
The conventional Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions have had some limitations such as limited vision/view for window applications and non-matching colours between vision and spandrel glass application areas.
AGC’s new BIPV solutions addresses these pain points and blend seamlessly to any vertical or horizontal BIPV applications. The latest high efficiency BIPV solutions are power packed, future-proof & aesthetically appealing.

Reduce | Recycle | Reuse Heat for a Greener World
Most of us understand the 3Rs of recycling but how many of us can confidently proclaim that this practise has become a part of our life. In the space of air-conditioning, the industry has made huge progress in improving its energy efficiency. However, as long as the air-con is in operation, heat waste generated will continue to contribute to global warming.
In this seminar, learn how the solar termal technology has evolved over the years to be a commercially viable way of reducing heat waste from air-con by reusing and recycling heat harness from the air-con and surrounding. At the same time, we also examine the importance of sustainability in system design to avoid any potential problems caused in the pursuit of "energy savings" and "carbon footprint reduction".
Join us to adopt 3R and create a Greener World.

Fibre Optic Sensing System and Pattern Analysis Enabling Predictive Monitoring to Prevent Unexpected Failures of Your Valuable Facilities
Facilities 4.0 aligns with and supports the "Smart Nation" blueprint announced by the Singapore Government in November 2014. One of the focus areas in the blueprint is "Smart Town. The underlying facilities form the crucial backbone of a Smart Town. Facilities operate on a 24x7 basis and therefore the monitoring should also be on a 24x7 basis. Failures of facilities often begin with some "signs. Ah hoc inspection can only identify faults which are already in very serious states. Effective monitoring requires an analysis of the history of the facilities. Fibre optic sensing systems can efficiently measure and capture the physical data of the facilities and produce a shear volume of data allowing implementation of proper preventive maintenance.

Embrace Digitalisation to Keep your Construction Business Running in the New Normal
The effects of the recent pandemic crisis will continue to reverberate through the economy for some time to come. With the pace of transition accelerating to support economic recovery, construction companies embracing digitalisation are positioning their businesses to deliver complex projects on time, on budget and within specification.
Adopting the right tools and solutions that integrate data, create seamless workflows, and make project execution simpler will enable companies to continue operating while complying with social distancing restrictions. Work can be documented in virtual inspections and as subcontractors and stakeholders have access to real-time information, informed decisions can be made whilst working remotely.

Industry Sustainability and Productivity – Unlock the Benefits and Impact of Industrialized Construction
Productivity improvements in the built environment have flat-lined and lag far behind the manufacturing sector; a significant proportion of every hour spent on construction sites is still wasted. In addition to labor, the industry also wastes tonnes of material every year, this simply isn't sustainable and is compounding the industry's already significant contribution to carbon emissions.
This is set to change as the industry increasingly shifts to an industrialized approach and adopts a more 'product-led' business model, breaking away from 'project-centric' delivery. The design process is also rapidly evolving to incorporate DfMA-DR (Design for Manufacture, Assembly-Disassembly and Reuse) principles. A number of global pressures are creating this shift and evolving the Industrialized Construction ecosystem that will unlock improvements in productivity and sustainability (environmental, social and economic).

Small is Beautiful – Spaciousness on a Smaller Scale
Around the globe, the masses are moving to the cities. As a result, available space is shrinking while per-square-meter prices are on the rise. No wonder that high density living, known as Microliving, is becoming popular.
This phenomenon has a positive side for architecture. Once again, it places the focus back on the discipline’s essential questions: How can higher density succeed without compromising on quality of life? And what’s the best way to use living space?
To find answers to these questions, we created an Architectural contest, the Hawa Student Award 2020, our competition for architecture students. During the Webinar we will share the three winning projects, which are clearly showing that less living space does not automatically mean lower quality of living.
Finally, Sliding technology makes it possible to make full use of small rooms, down to the last corner nook.

Sustainable Facade Design in the Tropics: Building for Resilience in a Post-pandemic Era
Sustainable buildings and communities are more resilient in times of a pandemic. The key to creating healthy environments conducive to healing, learning and productive work is the creation of comfortable, well day-lit environments with views to outside. To achieve this, a climate specific daylight design fenestration must be specified with high thermal performance.
This webinar will provide insights on how high performance windows/facades allow us to enjoy daylight and views without sacrificing thermal performance. There will also be sharing on available façade technologies and thermal optimization strategies of windows/facades.

Evolving Smart FM and Predictive Maintenance by Johnson Controls
The value of your facility asset today is not only determined by your amortization run-rate, but also a strong dependency on your field service professional and your sub-contractor. But what if you could start to pivot and move from an operations which is traditionally reactive and periodic where your focus is to fix when the equipment is down or over a scheduled cadence. To one where it is proactive and predictive, where you are able to eliminate defects at an early stage, and start to predict failure points so that you have maximum uptime by addressing it from day 0.
The panel will discuss strategic outcomes that you should expect through predictive maintenance where such innovation not only brings about cost savings but presents new opportunity for owners to create new revenue models.
