Project Summary
- The Surbana Jurong Campus marks a new and exciting chapter in the group’s growth and innovation story. The 68,915 m2 development is an exemplar of a people-centric, future-ready workplace that pushes the boundaries of smart, green and liveable design. This “Jewel of the West” will be a living showcase where visitors can learn more about the sustainable practices that SJ is driving in the built environment.
Situated on a greenfield site, the SJ Campus embraces a biophilic design philosophy and embodies the character of Singapore as a garden city, integrating urban structure and natural landscape while showcasing the history and competencies of the SJ Group. It boasts 100% green area replacement, in harmony with the surrounding natural space. More than half of the existing green area is maintained, while remaining landscape lost is substituted with roof and indoor gardens. The lush environment is conducive for outdoor exercise and connecting with nature. The Campus will also be a home away from home as a destination not just for employees but also their families.
The SJ Campus is the first building to achieve Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy, with highest Gross Floor Area (GFA). It is also one of the largest developments in Singapore to fully implement underfloor air distribution for improved indoor air quality and energy savings. Solar panels on upper-level roofs will generate renewable energy of around 389MWH per annum, the equivalent of powering 1,100 four-room HDB flats. Other features include self-shading facade to maximise natural light and minimise solar heat gain, as well as a smart lighting system which integrates daylight sensors and motion detectors for reduced energy consumption.
