Project Summary
The Obayashi-STECS CR202 Joint Venture, established in December 2022, is a partnership between Obayashi Corporation and Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (STEC). The joint venture is delivering a 5-kilometre tunnel connecting Fairways Drive to Sin Ming Walk for two mainline rail tracks using Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) excavation. As the deepest and largest project of its kind, the development presents significant engineering challenges. The tunnel alignment passes beneath sensitive and critical infrastructure, including the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the Pan Island Expressway, requiring exceptional technical precision, robust risk management and close coordination with multiple stakeholders throughout construction.

Project Summary
Keppel South Central is a next-generation, smart, super-low-energy Grade A office development conceived with sustainability at its core, demonstrating how high-performance buildings can advance both environmental stewardship and user wellbeing. Strategically located in the Tanjong Pagar precinct at the gateway to the Greater Southern Waterfront, the 33-storey development comprises Grade A offices, retail and event spaces, as well as a diverse range of indoor and outdoor amenities, including a swimming pool, fitness deck, sky terraces and a communal kitchen.

Designed as a workplace of the future, Keppel South Central integrates architecture, engineering and digital innovation to deliver measurable reductions in carbon emissions, energy use and operational inefficiencies, while redefining the workplace experience through greater connectivity and user-centric design.

Certified as a BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy building, Keppel South Central has also achieved WELL Building Standard precertification aligned with the Platinum level. The development is additionally WiredScore Platinum and SmartScore Platinum certified, and was awarded the prestigious Project of the Year (Commercial) at the 2025 Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Awards in recognition of its design excellence, digital innovation and sustainability leadership.

  • Grade A commercial office tower with a total GFA of 52,000sqm. In recognition of the heritage value of the old Shaw Tower, considerable efforts have been made to preserve key Heritage elements like the façade, the original logos, and other loose artefacts.

  • First commercial building in Singapore and Asia to achieve WiredScore and Smartscore Platinum reflecting best in class digital connectivity.

  • First Grade A commercial building in Singapore to achieve BCA Green Mark Platinum (Super Low Energy) certification under the 2021 criteria, with significant energy savings achieved through the use of Active Chilled Beam (ACB) system, which uses minimally conditioned primary air to induce large volume of room air over chilled water coils, requiring 50-70% less air than traditional system.

  • Inclusion of non-profit community centric agencies the same access to premium, grade A office facilities through URA CSFS scheme.

Temasek Shophouse

Project Summary

Temasek Shophouse demonstrates how heritage properties can be reimagined to remain relevant, contemporary and sustainable without erasure. Through adaptive reuse, four century-old shophouses were reprogrammed into an expanded social impact hub. The rich layering of pre-war architectural elements was brought forward with contemporary touches, allowing it to be a medium for storytelling Singapore’s urban history.

Temasek Shophouse also employs integrated passive and active design strategies to achieve up to 47% energy savings. It is on track to become Singapore’s first heritage shophouse to achieve the BCA Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy certification and International WELL Building Institute WELL Certification (Platinum)

Project Summary

HL-Sunway Prefab Hub is a joint venture between Hong Leong Asia and Sunway Construction Group, developed as Singapore’s largest Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH), located on a 38,421.8m² site.

The facility comprises 26 production lines and 54 loading bays, with an annual production capacity of approximately 100,000m³ of precast concrete elements, supporting large-scale residential and building projects.

The hub integrates advanced manufacturing systems, including automated reinforcement mesh fabrication, tower batching plant, and an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) for efficient component storage and retrieval.

Designed for flexibility, the facility can manufacture a wide range of precast components through standardized production processes, digital coordination, and integrated logistics systems. The facility incorporates sustainable design features, including rooftop solar photovoltaic panels, recycled-water dust suppression, enclosed material storage, natural ventilation, daylighting, and particulate monitoring systems to improve resource efficiency and workplace conditions.

HL-Sunway Prefab Hub demonstrates the application of industrialised construction, automation, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles to enhance productivity, quality control, and construction efficiency.

Project Summary

United Tec Construction was founded in 2018 to be a specialist Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) contractor. Regarded as one of the pioneers of utilizing modular construction in Singapore, United Tec delivered the landmark Avenue South Residence project, which was the world’s tallest concrete PPVC building when completed in 2022.

During this project site visit, United Tec will showcase their productivity and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly / Modern Methods of Construction efforts by adopting PPVC, precast staircase, precast household shelter, precast lift core, thereby greatly enhancing onsite productivity, and overall quality of construction. Prefabricated Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems are also installed on site ready for viewing, all in all, delivering a finished product at a high level of quality typically required of any luxury residential development.
