SITE 2 – Jurong Port RMC Ecosystem

BCAA Phase 2

Jurong Port (JP) is a world-class multipurpose port operator serving as Singapore's premier gateway for general and bulk cargo. Its port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk, and containerised cargo at JP Homeport, and several other terminals within Singapore, China and Indonesia. Our Ready-Mixed Concrete (RMC) Ecosystem integrates key components of the construction supply chain with the existing cement and steel cargoes which are also handled at the port.

At JP, an advanced mechanised handling system featuring cranes, hoppers and conveyors is used to efficiently transfer aggregate directly to RMC plants. This approach eliminates the need for 600,000 truck trips, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. In addition, the superior existing port infrastructure and deep-water berths facilitate the direct discharge and berthing of larger bulk vessels which transport aggregates from distant sources.

Our fully covered facility boasts 14-meter-high bunker walls that intensify aggregate storage capabilities. The RMC plants can batch concrete at 360m³ per hour, which is 50% more efficient than standard plants. With 30-year leases, RMC manufacturers can invest in better plants and consolidate their offices and control rooms in one location. The ecosystem which houses seven RMC batching plants and six aggregate importer plots, also promotes economies of scale through shared services like sludge treatment and aggregate recycling, reducing land use by 30%. All processes, from vessel arrival to dispatch of ready mixed concrete, are monitored digitally.
